Most MRP chainguides can be setup with the latest oval rings. Follow the instructions below to achieve the best setup.
1. As a start, set upper guide at position equivalent to two teeth larger than the oval chainring size (i.e. for a 32T oval chainring, upper guide should be set at the 34T location).
2. With the oval ring rotated such that its largest diameter is directly below the roof of the guide (the "HIGH POSITION"), ensure 3mm of clearance. Ensure that upon full compression of suspension no interference exists between the chain and the interior ceiling of the guide.
3. With the oval ring rotated such that its smallest diameter is directly below the roof of the guide (the "LOW POSITION"), ensure that the guide covers at least 1mm of the tooth profile in side view.
Our guides were designed to provide perfect security with traditional, round chainrings. However, our field testing has shown that above setup guidelines provide more than satisfactory results in regards to performance.
